Foundation A

The Foundation A students have developed some very proficient skills on ZOOM. They have learned how to mute and unmute themselves without help. They have discovered how to draw and have begun to realise that they can talk to one another. It will not be long before they are teaching the grownups some new online skills

Many of the children are missing their friends. It is hard to be apart and to miss out on time to play. Try and give your child the opportunity to talk with their friends if possible. Perhaps organise an opportunity for them to have some supervised phone calls with a friend. The chance to talk to a peer and just be little is especially important while everyone is at home.

The children are growing in confidence when speaking on ZOOM. It is important that they have the opportunity to answer or ask questions on their own. It is quite normal for children to need time to think of an answer and while at home they may look to mums or dads for help. Try and step away if this is the case; give your child the chance to answer on their own. It is okay if they make mistakes or are not sure what to say. What matters is that they are thinking through an answer of their own and able to communicate confidently.

Once again thank you to all the fantastic mums and dads at home. You are doing an amazing job in a difficult time. It is very much appreciated.

Thank you also to all my wonderful Foundation A students. You are all superstars and I am very proud of you for working so hard.
